I plan to use my degree to:
I have two plans based on when and where God opens doors. At the moment, I am working at Lowe’s. I am responsible for looking after all orders and order teams in the store. By having my degree I have doors open higher in management, but I still have to go through the right management positions to get there. I love my job and the people that I work with, but I will be searching for a job in composting, food waste management, or on a farm somewhere I would be interested in moving to. If I get a job in any of those latter areas, I would be thrilled to begin my contribution back to agriculture, to help that community and help that sector survive and thrive. It was a promise I made to myself when I first came to NC State, and it is a promise I want to keep.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at NC State was:
The people who opened my mind- it is an experience that I cannot put into words except to say that I am a better person because of all the people who have gently shaped me over the last 3 years.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
Dr. Bob Patterson
Dr. David Crouse
Ms. Brittany Deslauriers
My best friends Caroline Yount, Rachael Holzman, and Kayla Driver
My Fraternity brothers in Alpha Phi Omega

Now that I have graduated, I’m most looking forward to:
Sitting with a cup of tea, a good book, and watching the sunrise.

This is a question I get a lot. I’m looking forward to living my life with way less stress. I think for students who work 40 hours a week while IN college, graduating helps our mental health and our stress levels majorly. For students who didn’t have to work while in college, I can see why they miss college so much. To me it was just a  ton of hoops to jump through while learning cool things and meeting really cool people. I will be happy to be able to relax for the first time in a long time without this sense of anxiety about school starting back up again in a month or two. It will be the first time in my life that school is truly off my back and I can do what I want – travel, weightlift, get coffee with a friend. There are a lot of things you can do when you have so much of your time freed up. I’m looking forward to having the time to be me. To create, to exist, to read, and to drink a cup of tea and watch the sunrise.
