Research Summary:
The research for my Master’s thesis was focused on imaging sensors, artificial intelligence, and small unmanned aerial systems to detect target weed species in integrated vegetation management scenarios. The development of this technology and this research helped improve current management practices in detection of target weed species in vegetation management scenarios. By doing such, an enhanced understanding of autonomous vehicles to control target weed species can be explored further that includes little to no human intervention.
I plan to use my degree to:
I plan on using my degree and knowledge obtained at NC State with Lifescale Analytics to help address remotely sensed environmental issues across the globe, helping pioneer new technologies, drive business, and lead Lifescale Analytics’s small unmanned aerial vehicle business.
What I enjoyed most about my experience in Crop and Soil Sciences at NC State was:
Everyone I met along the way in the Crop and Soil Sciences at NC State were supportive and as passionate as I was about my research. The caliber of research, knowledge, and support at NC State’s Crop and Soil Science was an invaluable resource throughout my entire time at NC State. It was an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Richardson and the Aquatic Plant Management Program within the Crop and Soil Sciences department at NC State.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
This degree would not have been possible without the continuous support, love, and encouragement from my wife and family. I would also like to acknowledge all of the members of Dr. Richardson’s lab and Dr. Ramon Leon Gonzalez’s lab and anyone else that helped in this journey.
Now that I have graduated, I’m most looking forward to:
Taking a breath, enjoying time with my family, and utilizing my new knowledge and skill sets obtained from NC State to help improve the world we live in.
