My next step is to continue with graduate study next fall here at NC State’s Dept. of Crop and Soil Sciences. I look forward to research in Dr. Kevin Garcia’s lab, studying soil microbe/plant-root interactions while completing a Soil Science Master’s degree.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at NC State was:
I came to NC State to learn about soils, knowing that the topic was complex. I have absorbed an overwhelming plethora of soil knowledge from the incredible faculty in the Department of Crop & Soil Sciences, and related the topic with other brilliant minds in Forestry & Environmental Resources, Horticultural Science, Bio & Ag Engineering and many more. Looking back, the experience was like an ongoing, elaborate, and fascinating conversation among friends.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My wife, Anna Keith Rose, offered immeasurable support and encouragement throughout my academic experience, and will always be my strongest motivation. All my accomplishments, academic and otherwise, are dedicated to her honor and memory.

In the near future, I look forward to traveling, reflecting, and spending plenty of time outdoors this summer.
